I'm still working on my Vine skills but I thought this one from the Start Early 10K this morning captures the feeling of endlessness at the finish line of any race:
Isn't the finish line kind of like that hallway in Poltergeist:
You speed up and it just stays the same distance away.
And in the case of my Vine above, there's a little kid that you just can't catch.

Hahaha nice. I felt that way during the Rock n Roll Chicago last year, with that looooong stretch to the finish line. I also felt that way during a 10K last year, you came off the last turn and were like, yay! finish! but it was actually a quarter mile down the street or something.
ReplyDeleteHaha. Yeah, any final straightaway seems to feel that way. But I guess it's better than the surprise ending where you turn a corner and suddenly there's the finish line.
